TESTIMONIALS from Reflexologists
From Bobbi Warren in La Mesa, California, USA, Regional Director (Western States) of the International Institute of Reflexology:
Hello, I received your email with the link to your website and I came to look at it today. What a great testimonial for all of us reflexologists. Great job! I have been one of the IIR's seminar leaders in the USA for 28 years and a Reflexologist for 30. Muscular pain is something I find to be incredibly responsive to Reflexology. Thank you so much for this good work. Take Care! Bobbi Warren Regional Director (Western States) - International Institute Of Reflexology

Hello, I Am a reflexologist trained by the International Institute of Reflexology and am continually amazed by the results I have when helping clients with back pain. Many clients come to me after they have seen doctors and chiropractors and find no relief. They are astounded by the way they feel after trying reflexology. Not only do clients have the physical pain that back pain presents but also emotional feelings that need to be considered. Many feel frustrated, upset and exhausted by the way the condition makes them feel and it is important to take these feelings into account when treating the client. It is very rewarding to see a client leave after a course of treatments, having helped them with their back pain but also with a smile on their face. Thank you so much for this informative website, a great resource for all reflexologists and sufferers of back pain. Keep up the good work. Kelly Hainsworth I.I.R, M.A.R. T.A.Th

From Marianne Wright in Warks, UK, back sufferer and Clinical Reflexologist MAR:
Hello, my name is Marianne Wright. I have just spent the last hour looking over your new website about Reflexology and Back Pain. I am a Reflexologist myself, and trained with the IIR. Having suffered with back pain I read with great interest.
I just wanted to say 'THANK YOU' for a greatly informative and inspiring website. It makes you feel positive about back pain, and that there is some genuine hope for sufferers. I have been told so many times in the past about not doing certain moves or exercises by my Chiropractor, when there is nothing structurally wrong with it. I felt depressed to be told I couldn't do certain moves etc. I have recently been doing Pilates which has helped a great deal with strengthening my back and stomach muscles, and I'm being told 'to move'! The exact opposite!
I look forward to the 'Reflexologist's page being available. Keep up the good work, and thank you for your time in creating a truly wonderful website.
Thank you, I wish I'd seen something like this 3 years ago.
All the best, Marianne.

From Sue Bostock in Handsworth, UK, Reflexologist M.A.R. M.NHS.Dir.Ref.:
I am a reflexologist and I have successfully treated many people who have back pain. Some of these people have seen doctors, chiropractors, osteopaths and have had no relief but after having reflexology they were amazed by the results....even comparing the therapy to magic! My husband has a chronic back condition which used to be so severe that at times he could only crawl about on his hands and knees but then I trained as a reflexologist and the therapy has worked wonders, it keeps him mobile and has given him a much better quality of life. I too have back problems caused by a horse riding accident but I know that regular reflexology keeps me mobile. I regularly promote reflexology and hope that one day everyone will be aware of its benefits.

From Sheila Crouch in the UK, Clinical Reflexologist
I have been practising and teaching reflexology for over 20 years, I have had great results transposing different therapies to reflexes and one technique which has had very good results and positive testimonials from my advanced seminars is to balance the cranial/sacral points allowing the CSF pump to function better. This involves lightly placing a middle finger on the tip of the big toe, the thumb over the pituitary/hypothalamus and the other thumb over the coccyx point on the spinal reflex. Wait until you can feel a pulsing wave at both tip and heel. Then hold both heels in your hands and wait until there is an equal pulse in both. This has induced a general calmness and relaxation in clients.

From Patrick Thornton in Ireland, Reflexologist MAR:
As well as using ART (Advanced Reflexology Techniques), I also use VRT (Vertical Reflex Therapy by Lynne Booth - www.boothvrt.com). This involves having the client stand upright while I work around the spine reflex, plus the sciatic, hip/knee reflex. The theory of VRT is that reflex points are in layers and when clients are weight bearing (standing), deeper reflex points are accessed and bring about healing faster than in the reclined position. VRT is normally carried out for about five minutes at the end of a conventional treatment.

I practice Nerve Reflexology taught by Nico Pauly (www.mnt-nr.com) and have had amazing results using this method with clients suffering from chronic back pain.
From Karen James in the UK, Reflexologist MAR and Holistic Therapist:
Hello, I grew up being very agile doing lots of exercise including yoga. From the age of 20 I spent episodes resting on painkillers and unable to walk. This continued on and off until I discovered reflexology and trained in 1994. Receiving and giving myself reflexology has been a godsend, with the pain relief it has given. I have discovered it is unhappiness, emotional pain and lack of postural exercise that cause back pain for me. Reflexology has strengthened me to support and care for myself and validate my true feelings. I am now free to be me. I still treat myself regularly working the toes, spine and hips. I love getting a treatment from a good reflexologist. Finding a good reflexologist is important, someone with a healing touch and who is capable of both sensitivity and good pressure. There can be a vast difference with any body work therapists, it is important to find one that really meets your needs, who can hit the spot and take you to that deep healing space.
